Making a Pilgrimage to the Buddha’s Footprint Tradition
This tradition is usually held from Chinese New Year’s Day to
the month of the Magha Bucha Day ( January- March ) at Khao
Khitchakut. In the past, Buddhists walked approximately 15
kilometres to make a pilgrimage to the Buddha’s footprint at
the peak. They believed that they would receive a great
virtue. Although there is a service bus now, people still
believe in this tradition.
This annual fair is usually held in Mays to celebrate the
abundance of tropical fruits. There are colourful floats
decorated with fruits, fruit contests, beauty pageants,
sales of gems and exhibitions of local product.
