Wat Chong Kham - Wat Chong Klang , Maehongson

The temples, built in 1827 in Shan arts, are located  around  Nong Chong Kham Public Park.  In the image hall, Luang Pho To is enshrined as the main buddha image.

Opposite to the temples, a bar beer is recommended for beer lovers especially during the winter's evening  the temples will be decorated with colorful lights reflecting on Nong Chong Kham. Such relaxing feel is hardly found at any places.

Wat Chong Kham made by wood. It shares the same land with Wat Chong Klang. It's hardly indentified by the area.

Wat Chong Kham is a little less old and elaborate than Wat Chong Klang. This is because some part of the temple was destroyed by fire in 1970.

The central building of Wat Chong Kham, like all the Shan temples of Mae Hong Son, is the large wooden wiharn decorated with white metal fretwork.

Local people like listening to monks' praying every day.

Next to the wooden wiharn, is a modern building built over the revered Buddha image of Luang Por To.

The temple was added later in the 19th century by Shans living in the area. Inside wiharn (ordation hall), there is a collection of Burmese carved wooden dolls - tukata, Buddha Sihing image. There are also beautiful glass paintings, depicting aspects of Buddhism and simple local activities.
